Vintage Country Fall Wedding: Casey + Josh

We introduced the fall wedding season with the marriage of Casey and Josh in October of 2014. Josh, a geologist from the UK, and Casey, also a geologist, joined together in the heart of the Texas hill country for their destination wedding.
Fall allows brides to exhibit bolder, deeper colors in a tasteful fashion. We combined bright yellow sunflowers with red roses, purple thistle, and a touch of white daisies and baby’s breath to create the floral mix for this event. The flowers were arranged in milk glass vases that Casey’s mother, Sally, collected for the occasion. Sally stopped at every estate sale and consignment shop she encountered for over a year to purchase the vintage milk glass. We combined her milk glass to the collection of Rancho Mirando’s antique silver and vintage vases.
The head harvest king table was complete with a vintage lace table runner and a sprig of lavender, cut from Rancho Mirando’s own lavender grove, tucked in each napkin. Casey’s bouquet was one of the most fun and creative we have ever arranged: red and white roses combined with yellow sunflowers, billy balls, fresh seeded eucalyptus and finished with a real artichoke.
The evening began with a cool, refreshing bottle of Hubert’s lemonade and iced tea as guests arrived. The ceremony was perfectly intimate and focused on Casey and Josh. An original song was written and performed by Casey’s own Maid of Honor. The song shared the love story and journey of these two, and brought laughter and happy tears to each and every guest. There could not have been a more perfect day with a clear, blue sky and bright sunshine to highlight the love shared between this couple.
The reception continued the hill country theme, using Rancho Mirando’s wine barrel buffet and cocktail tables. Homestyle cooking served by Sullivan Street mixed Texas BBQ with comfort food and kept guests coming back for seconds and thirds. The bar was stocked with local Texas beers and signature cocktails, including a Mayan Mule that is the tequila version of a traditional favorite. Guests were entertained by Christian of Altared Weddings, who kept everyone on the dancefloor until they had to be torn, pulled, and dragged away to execute the sparkler send-off. No one, including us, wanted this magical evening to end.
