We love this time of year! The smell walking through the grove is heavenly.
Wimberley wedding photographer Jason Hicks snapped this beautiful shot of the lavender and olive grove on a recent bridal portrait shoot. Of course Olive, the grove’s resident rescued white tail deer had to get in on the action.
Olive came to live at Rancho Mirando, a registered wildlife management preserve, when his mother was killed at a nearby camp. Knowing the Aldreds were “animal people” a neighbor deposited the tiny fawn at the ranch when he was just days old to be hand bottle-fed and raised thinking he was a dog. Now a permanent fixture in the lavender and olive grove he presides over all activities in his domain.
Olive charmed the bride as well, but you can’t see those photos yet!
Stay tuned for some exciting news about the lavender grown at Rancho Mirando. Boy, do we have ideas…
