A Stunning Six-Day Indian Wedding

We have been blessed over our 5 plus years of business to celebrate weddings of all races, religions and lifestyles. We pride ourselves in having open minds and hearts. Learning and working with new cultures and wedding traditions is a true joy and inspiration for our team. The ranch is a magical space and our wish is to share that magic with everyone who enters our gates.
Priya and Anup were a particularly special couple for us as Bharat, Priya’s father, is a family friend. We wanted their six day wedding celebration to be everything they dreamed of and more.
The incredibly talented Greg Blomberg Photography captured this truly unique Indian celebration with stunning shots of the multi-day event, and we feel blessed to have been a part of it!
Priya, a soon-to-be medical student, had been so focused on school that her wedding preparations often took place in the early hours of the morning. Her ability to balance school life with wedding planning is proof that this brilliant young woman will be successful on every path she takes. Her handsome and laid back husband, Anup, learned early on that a happy life is a happy wife and his go-with-the-flow attitude added to her balance of easy going perfectionism.
From Anup’s helicopter entrance to the ranch, the trailer-driven band of Bollywood Strings‘ marry musicians with trumpets and dhol in tow for the baraat, to the jaw-dropping light show at the reception by Outspoken Visions, this wedding celebration was one of our favorites!
As featured on Maharani Weddings, Priya shared some of her favorite moments:
“I think taking pictures with my husband 2 hours before the reception while the sun was setting was a really special moment, I kind of hit us both that we were finally married and could relax and enjoy the rest of the night.”
On what she loved most about planning her dream wedding:
“I loved taking dance lessons with my dad! We had so much fun!”
On her and her Raja’s first dance song selection:
“We had a special cut of Ed Sheerans song “Thinking Out Loud” that our choreographer and dance instructor Angelique of C&C Ballroom in San Antonio, had made for us, we both loved the song from the moment we picked it and I especially loved the way we were able to lyrically dance our first dance to it.”
On the role her family and friends played:
“I can’t thank my parents and our family friends enough for all the hard work they put into helping make this wedding a success I honestly couldn’t have done it without them.”
Maharani Priya, on her wedding style:
“I grew up in the Texas Hill country and knew before I even had a groom that I wanted an outdoor wedding, anyone that knows me knows I’m a southern Belle first and foremost. My goal was to highlight and embellish the natural beauty already present with some Bollywood flair. We picked our wedding venue because we immediately fell in love with how the hill country seemed to unfold below us from there and we couldn’t have asked for better people to work with then Leslie and Donna at Rancho Mirando they really helped bring the wedding to life.”
