Help the pups: WAGala coming to Rancho Mirando!
The public is invited to enjoy wine, appetizers and dinner, as well as boot scooting to the Hot Texas Swing Band (shown above). The best part? It’s all for the dogs!
WAG Rescue is an all-volunteer supported organization committed to the rescue and adoption of dogs in the hill country. Since its inception, the number of dog adoptions annually in the Wimberley area has steadily increased from 13 in 2009 to 145 in 2014.
The mission of Wimberley Adoption Group & Rescue is to come to the aid of abandoned, neglected, unclaimed and surrendered dogs and puppies in and around the Wimberley area.
WAG Rescue provides medical care for rescued animals and places them in a nurturing foster environment where they receive training and learn socialization skills until they are ready to be adopted into loving, permanent homes.
WAG Rescue promotes the compassionate treatment of all animals and seeks to educate the public about responsible pet ownership. The animal lovers at Rancho Mirando share these ideals.
“As a huge animal lover with my own great Pyrenees rescue, it is our complete pleasure to donate the venue this year for the WAGala,” says Rancho Mirando’s Leslie Aldred Lambert. “WAG has re-homed over 740 dogs using a network of foster families in Wimberley and the surrounding area!”
Tickets to the WAGala can be purchased on the WAGS website.
